I refuse to call it Conshy, which is supposedly what the locals do, but I think that is beyond lame and makes it sound like a town where teenage girls walk around holding chihuahas and showing off their bellybuttons (umbilicus, technically speaking) OR like a town where large men named Vince or Joey drink beer and eat cheesesteaks and wear hardhats.
So far, that’s not what it’s like. We are finally settled into our cute little apartment in our cute little apartment complex; Tessa’s nanny starts today, so hopefully that is going smoothly and she won’t go running for the hills when I get home (it is rather hilly in Conshohocken). It is very family friendly and the neighbors are all nice (minus the one who robbed a few apartments a couple of weeks ago, haven’t met them yet, but hopefully won’t) and there is plenty of space for Tessa to run around outside and play, and her room is big enough for her furniture AND all her toys which have amassed to an inconceivable number…. There is a Whole Foods 10 minutes away which means there IS a god!!! PRAISE HIM*! and a wawa right down the street (coffee) and a train station 5 minutes away (half hour train ride, rather nice). I sleep until 6 am.. wait, did you read that? 6 AM- SIX oclock, not 445 or 5. See above, *.
And a nanny… see above, *.
I feel like a new woman. Now if only I could shave my hair ass legs which I haven’t been able to touch for 3 weeks because of a lovely case of poison ivy.
SO, the moral of the story is that things are coming together and I can finally relax enough to study for exams which are next week, as well as not feeling like I’m going to have a panic attack every 3 to5 minutes for 2 to 3 minutes at a time, like hypertonic contractions only with anxiety instead of labor…. nursing school has taken over my brain….
anyway, I guess I should go pray to my newfound god (see above, *) to pass these exams because there is a LOT of information that I have not fully absorbed. Maybe tonight I will use my med-surg book as a pillow and through osmosis… nevermind. Someday I will write a normal post that is actually interesting instead of just proving to you all how much I belong in the psych ward at which we did karaoke last week and are doing cupcake decorating this week (yes, that’s what $40,000 buys you at Drexel.)
PS. When my camera gets unpacked, I’ll put up some new pictures of the tessapup.
Pingback: News & Gossip – Week of 08/23/10
I have been a resident of West Conshohocken for 33 years prior to that I grew up in Conshohocken. And have always referred to our borough’s as West Conshohocken or Conshohocken. The news media has decided to
coin us Conshy & the Conshy Curve we have accepted & NOT corrected their slang phrase!
Lets stand up for our boroughs & demand proper naming!
